The latest posting today of the National Debt shows it has topped $14 trillion for the first time.
The U.S. Treasury website today reported that as of last Friday, the last day of 2010, the National Debt stood at $14,025,215,218,708.52.
It took just 7 months for the National Debt to increase from $13 trillion on June 1, 2010 to $14 trillion on Dec. 31. It also means the debt is fast approaching the statutory ceiling $14.294 trillion set by Congress and signed into law by President Obama last February.
The federal government would have to stop borrowing and might even default on its obligations if Congress fails to increase the Debt Ceiling before the limit is reached.

What is wrong with whoever writes these articles on this blog!? U thank/blame Obama for the debt? Isn’t his cabinet comprised of many of the Wall Street culprits who got US into this mess? Why didn’t u complain about them during Bush and previous administrations while they were stealing U blind? All those bad loans and tricky financial instruments weren’t just implemented 2 yrs ago. Obama may stutter but he surly isn’t a Messiah. If you’re gonna blame a president, Bush need share a great deal of it for allowing 8 yrs of madness. Where’s yr blog on 8 yrs of trillions of $$$ wasted(implemented in Bush’s admin.) on unnecessary war that probably out spends any $$$ foolishly/unfairly used for bailouts. Do U actually feel any more secure now, I surly don’t. Imagine we have to but submit to being felt up or having our naked image peered at by strangers just to board a plane? That makes u feel safe when so many have access to planes who don’t go thru security checks? So again, as I said in previous post-Stop the foolishness, get a clue & try to write about some useful truth for a change, Obama is not the problem! Gosh as I type this I glance over at some of your other titles and just shake my head and say Duh! U can’t be serious. i.e. article titled “Thanks, Obama Food Stamp Role …Rise!” Well again Duh! We’re in an economic collapse(not caused by Obama) Where was your blog about the fact your industries/jobs were shipped out to foreign countries long before Obama(call for technical assistance lately or check your manuf. labels lately?) ergo-no job, no $, no food. Again Duh! BTW i’m “Black” & no Obama fan, but U R so off the mark. Suggestion, shut down this blog and do something more useful with your time! Hope U read this, reflect and actually stop the foolishness.
